MANUFACTURE OF DCT CHUCKS
CHUCK: - A chuck is a specialized type of clamp used to hold an object, usually an object with radial symmetry, especially a cylindrical object. It is most commonly used to hold a rotating tool (such as the drill bit in a power tool) or a rotating work piece (such as the barer blank in the headstock spindle of a lathe). Some chucks can also hold irregularly shaped objects (ones that lack radial symmetry). In some applications, the tool or work piece being held by the chuck remains stationary while another tool or work piece rotates (for example, a drill bit in the tailstock spindle of a lathe, or a round work piece being milled by a milling cutter).
ROOTING:-Rooting shows us all the processes involved in particular process. Rooting of manufacture of DCT chuck can be shown as:-
FOR ROUTING PROCESS REFER THE WORD FILE BELOW
The detailed process can explained as:-
ØSELECTION OF MM:- MM stands for master of material. The master of mater is material used for making chuck of DCT machine. Here MM is MILD STEEL.
ØROD MANUFACTURE:- the MS rod of dimension more than required is made because we need to do lots of machining on it afterwards.
CUTTING OF ROD:- MS rod are then cut into the required thickness before it is used on lathe machine for its furth...........................................................
